Make a Difference: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library started in 1995 to benefit the children of Sevier County, TN with books of their own. Dolly knew that literacy can open the doors of Opportunity and that fostering a love of reading in the children of her home county would enrich their lives as well as give them a foundation for future success. Children from birth to age five receive a free book each month through her Library. Today, 1 in10 children under the age of five in the US receives Imagination Library books. Her program has grown to encompass five countries and has gifted 2 million books a month!

As a former English teacher, I understand just how important it is for kids to have books at an early age. So, a percentage of book sales from the books listed on this page will be donated to Dolly’s Imagination Library each year. You, too, can Do What Dolly Would Do—spread the joy of reading and make a difference in a child’s life.
