The Cape Fear area of North Carolina has been part of my life for over 50 years and so have books. After teaching ELA to middle schoolers for 31 years, I decided to fuse my two passions— books and the beach— into my second act. I love sharing great stories with folks and what better way than with K’s Beach Reads.
Currently, we are an online store with pop-up aspirations. Our bibliobus will soon be up-fitted with shelving, lighting, and an exterior wrap just in time for summer! If you see us on the road around OKI, give us a little wave. :)

We are happy to be able to contribute to the maintenance of beach access amenities through the work of the Oak Island Beach Preservation Society. Whether it’s through educational opportunities, flash beach sweeps, mobimats, doggie bag boxes, trees for dunes, or bike racks, this group does so much to help our beach be a safe and welcoming place for everyone. It pays for all of us to Be a Beach Lover!
